Medical Director (m/f/d) – Women’s Health & Neurology

Ismaning / Hybrid
Full-time
Permanent employee

Your mission

We are shaping the medicine of tomorrow – and expanding our therapeutic focus from women’s health into neurology.

You own the medical success and scientific credibility of both therapy areas:
  • Neurology (≈50%): Build the medical function, external presence, and development footprint in DACH — from strategy to execution. Contribute with new developments in the field.
  • Women’s Health (≈50%): Lead, scale, and further professionalize a high-performing Medical Affairs organization in a market-leading franchise.
You operate as a working leader: strategic in direction, but deeply involved in execution, decision-making, and external engagement.

Responsibilities
I. Neurology – Build & Shape (≈50%)
You will create the Neurology medical footprint from scratch in DACH.

 • Ensure all activities are fully aligned with regulatory, payer, guideline, and clinical practice requirements
Clinical Development & Study Design
• Take active medical responsibility for clinical programs in DACH
 • Personally contribute to study design, including:
 – Concepts, endpoints, inclusion/exclusion criteria, comparators, patient-relevant outcomes
 • Shape studies to ensure they:
 – Work in real neurology practice
 – Answer clinically meaningful questions
 – Are feasible and attractive for sites and patients
 • Co-lead protocol development, steering committees, and advisory boards
 • Ensure studies support differentiation, label ambitions, and long-term franchise value

• Personally build and own a strong KOL and center network in DACH
 • Identify, qualify, and activate:
 – Key opinion leaders
 – High-performing trial sites
 – Centers of excellence and networks
 • Establish long-term strategic partnerships with key centers
 • Drive selection and engagement of steering committee members, advisors, and PIs
 • Systematically use KOL insights to shape strategy, studies, endpoints, and evidence priorities
External Scientific Leadership
• Act as the visible scientific face of the company in DACH
 • Personally represent the company at major congresses, advisory boards, and expert meetings
 • Lead high-level scientific discussions and partnerships with external experts
 • Ensure scientific exchange is impactful, relevant, and fully compliant

II. Women’s Health – Lead & Scale (≈50%)
You will lead and further strengthen a market-leading Women’s Health Medical organization with strong brands and high external visibility.
Team & Organization Leadership
• Lead, develop, and inspire a team of Medical Advisors and MSLs
 • Set clear priorities, ensure focus, and drive high-impact execution
 • Establish performance management, KPIs, and a strong ownership culture

• Own and drive the Medical Plan across the Women’s Health portfolio in close alignment with Brand Strategy
 • Lead planning, prioritization, and execution of medical activities:
 – Scientific exchange
 – Medical education
 – Congresses
 – Advisory boards
 – Content review
MSL & KOL Excellence
• Lead and develop the MSL team (territory strategy, target accounts, objectives, content quality, insights)
 • Own the KOL strategy end-to-end:
 – Identification, segmentation, engagement, governance, documentation
 • Use KOL partnerships to:
 – Strengthen scientific leadership
 – Increase brand impact
 – Accelerate acceptance of key medical messages
Medical Information, Governance & Cross-Functional Impact
• Co-own Medical Information together with Pharmacovigilance (quality, compliance, timeliness, trends)

Why us?

The Opportunity
This is a unique dual-impact leadership role combining:
  • The opportunity to build and shape a Neurology/CNS franchise from the ground up, and
  • The responsibility to further strengthen and scale a market-leading Women’s Health business.
In Neurology, you will work in a true greenfield environment: defining the medical strategy, building the external footprint, establishing the KOL and center network, and shaping the entire scientific positioning in close collaboration with Global Medical and R&D.
In Women’s Health, you will lead and grow an established, successful Medical organization, further increasing scientific impact, quality of execution, and cross-functional influence in a category where the company already holds a leading market position.
This role is for a hands-on builder who wants to create visible, lasting impact — not just manage existing structures.

Why This Role Is Special
  • You will build a Neurology/CNS franchise, not inherit one
  • You will leave a personal footprint in a new therapy area
  • You will shape strategy and execute it yourself
  • You will lead in a company that is already a leader in Women’s Health and help take it to the next level
